Chris Benz‘s Fall/Winter 2012 presentation provided us with some serious eye candy. The longer we stared at the models, the more we discovered. From the sky-high wigs to the claw-style gloves, the looks did not miss a beat. Maybe it was all the hairspray fumes, but as the music from a bygone era played, it was hard not to transport to a land resembling a tripped-out version of the Valley of the Dolls.

And suddenly “Rock Lobster” is stuck in my head.

Fashion Week: Lela Rose

The backstage at the Lela Rose Fall/Winter 2012 show was aflutter with all things Lela- family, models, pets, hair/make up artists and stylists alike all came to see what the designer had in store for them.

And of course, there was the collection. Inspired by Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava, the collection called on angular shapes and warm earth tones: orange, neutrals and marigold. The looks were complemented by stunning hair and make up by Ted Gibson and from Tina Turnbow/Stila respectively.

Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, straight from Lela’s Electrolux oven.

Fashion Week: Rachel Antonoff

Rachel Antonoff‘s F/W 2012 presentation at Drive In Studios on Saturday could most likely be considered performance art. It was the kind of presentation most conducive to socializing and catching up. There was just so much to talk about. Models stood in front of a cut-out forest wonderland complete with a river and rowboat, wearing beautiful prints and styled with a carefree femininity that so many women long for. There certainly was no shortage of drop waists and Peter Pan collars.

And let’s not forget Mr. Wendy. For those who aren’t already acquainted with the fashionable feline, Mr. Wendy has appeared in 5 Rachel Antonoff shows. He may be over age 72 in cat years (or 15 in human years), but Mr. Wendy accomplished a solid two hour set of model-cuddling. And yes, he tweets.

Who knew that Alia Shawkat (best known as Maeby) had such serious pipes on her? Accompanied by an accordion and stand up bass, the tone was perfectly set.

FASHION WEEK: Kimberly Ovitz

Kimberly Ovitz‘s Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show embraced a dark edginess that the designer has so beautifully cultivated over the last few years. From waxed leather jackets to brushed velvet pants, Ovitz mastered her aesthetic through and through.

Fashion Week: Kaelen

Step aside, corn flakes. There is no better way to start the day than with the Kaelen presentation this morning at the Box at Lincoln Center. Asymmetrical hemlines, lace, gold woven fabrics and beautiful prints took the stage for the hour-long presentation.
